THE COFFEE CLUB – CELEBRATING THREE YEARS IN CAMBODIA AND NOW SET FOR RAPID GROWTH

Phnom Penh, August 30th, 2022 – Three years ago this month, Australia’s iconic The Coffee Club arrived in Aeon Mall Phnom Penh, and Siem Reap International Airport, Kingdom of Cambodia.

Focused initially on international visitors, The Coffee Club had a challenging time during the Covid pandemic with shopping malls and airports seeing restricted customer activity and borders being largely sealed. The Coffee Club Siem Reap temporarily closed for nearly two years.

Mid year 2021, The Coffee Club Aeon Mall started a recovery plan with a new store location, design, menu, and a price repositioning targeting local clientele and resident expats. This new strategy has proved attractive and is delivering impressive growth numbers.

The Coffee Club Cambodia is now set for a period of rapid growth. The Coffee Club Siem Reap International Airport is undergoing a refurbishment and will reopen next month. A new The Coffee Club is currently under construction at Phnom Penh International Airport and two further The Coffee Club stores will open later this year in Aeon Mall Sen Sok and Aeon Mall Mean Chey.

Martin Darby, Managing Director of The Coffee Club franchisee partner Express Food Group (EFG), expressed his excitement at bringing this iconic Australian brand to a wider Cambodian audience. “From Phnom Penh Eggs Benedict to classic Australian Mini Burger Sliders, the eclectic mix of Asian Australian food and beverages ensure there is something for everyone at The Coffee Club. Coffee is our middle name, but The Coffee Club offers so much more than coffee, with Australian inspired iced beverages, Australian beers, and wines and an extensive ever-changing range of food for dine-in , delivery and takeaway”.

The Coffee Club is proud to be a member of AusCham Cambodia. Jarrod Appleby, Chief Growth Officer at Minor DKL Food Group said, “We are now in the best position to expand our service offering and grow the number of outlets in Cambodia. We see huge opportunities for The Coffee Club brand and together with the expertise of EFG we will continue to deliver the best quality meals and beverages to our loyal customer base.”
