February 9th, 2020 Vientiane – EFG Lao showed their support for Interplast, an Australian organization that provides cleft repair surgery and reconstructive plastic surgeries for children and adult burn victims in Lao.
For over ten years, doctors from Australia have been recruited to join Interplast’s inspiring cause in treating burn victims and children with cleft palates. The programme has also been training local staff at Mahosot Hospital since 1996. EFG leveraged its reach with its large customer base to support Interplasts’ cause, while sharing the love of good food with patients at Mahosot Hospital.
Each of EFG Laos’ four restaurant brands, The Pizza Company, Texas Chicken, Swensen’s and Dairy Queen, and their famous mascots, delighted kids, parents and medical personnel at Mahosot Hospital, bringing plenty of food to go around and lots of positive energy.
On top of lively visits, EFG Lao held a lucky draw at each of its restaurants with funds from raffle tickets used to support Interplast with their operational costs, from transportation to daily expenditures.
“EFG Lao is moved by Interplast’s inspiring cause in helping burn victims and children born with untreated cleft palates. It was such a joy to see the faces of everyone at Mahosot Hospital light up as we brought in food from our stores and our mascots delighted the kids. This was also a great opportunity to reach out to our large customer base for support – with a fun lucky draw involved, in true EFG fashion,” said Nicolas Martin, Business Administration Manager, EFG Lao.
Focusing on the importance of safety, EFG Lao provided their employees with first aid education and ways to prevent burns in the cooking area.
Interplast is one of the many community-aid programs that EFG Lao supports, with each program focused on different facets of community issues.
